At Market Timbers, we have a full range of cork tiles, floating boards, and panels for sale. The price will vary depending on whether you want floating or glue-down tiles, and if we have them in stock or if they need to be imported. When considering different installation methods for cork flooring, you’ll need to think about the amount of foot traffic through the space, how much moisture exposure there is, and the condition of your subfloors. Floating cork is much faster and easier to install because it sits on top of your subfloor, but if the cork is likely to get wet, glue-down is the better option.
Cork is the only wood product that is naturally waterproof. It’s a great choice for areas where water and moisture are unavoidable, like your kitchen or bathroom. Cork floors are also resistant to mould and mildew. To enhance your floor’s water-resistant properties, we recommended adding a sealant to the cork surface.

Cork flooring is completely renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable. It is made from the bark of the cork oak tree (Quercus Suber), which can be harvested every nine years. The harvesting practices are sustainable because the tree isn’t damaged during the process. After the bark is stripped, it will grow back, ready to be harvested again.
