Engineered timber flooring looks and feels like solid timber, but the uniquely layered construction makes it more stable and easier to install, repair, and refinish. The top layer is made from hardwood European Oak, which can be treated and finished for a simple, elegant style. Then, the other layers can be constructed from cheaper plywood or more Oak. Because they’re laminated together, they can be made into larger sizes up to 400mm in width, making them perfect for bigger spaces.
Transform your home, office, or commercial property with engineered timber flooring stocked right here in Melbourne and shipped Australia-wide. Our extensive range comes in different shades, grades, and sizes that add character to any room. The structural stability means your flooring will feel sturdy and solid underfoot while withstanding any water or moisture damage. Perfect for kitchens and bathrooms, it’s also safe to install on top of underfloor heating. Our engineered floorboards are made from trees that grow faster than hardwood timber, making them a more sustainable and affordable alternative.

Rez Razak and his team were totally professional. They supplied and laid our cork flooring without any hassles at all and were simply superb to deal with. Highly recommended.
An excellent piece of european oak that was stained to match an existing kitchen.
Excellent service from Rez, Andrew and co, from the first enquiry to the finished cork floor. Really appreciated the attention given to a small job.

Yes. Engineered timber flooring is very eco-friendly, as it helps reduce waste by using all parts of the tree. Sourced from sustainable European forests, engineered timber flooring is made from many thinner planks of wood, allowing a greater portion of each tree to be utilised. In addition, other flooring materials can be non-recyclable and emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as contributing to landfill. Timber flooring can be refinished, however, for an extended lifespan or repurposed into other wood products.
While solid hardwood is more durable and has been among those products buyers often search for, the more affordable engineered timber flooring and its easier installation have won over many Australian residents. On the surface, both are identical, as the top part of an engineered timber flooring is made of hardwood and thus doesn’t differ much from 100% natural timber floors regarding appearance and style. Market Timbers is at the centre of the growing demand for these two products. Whatever you decide for your flooring, engineered timber or natural hardwood, we are at your service.
To see our engineered timber first-hand, you can visit our Melbourne showroom in person or virtually. You can also request a sample of our timber flooring to be posted to you. At only the postal cost, the sample itself is free.
Yes, you can. Our flooring finishes are endlessly unique. Engineered hardwood flooring from Market Timbers is available in different widths, thicknesses, finishes and treatments. Choose from our Danish penetrating oil, WOCA, or a water-based polyurethane and hard wax oil finish. Other options include hand-scraping, heavy-brushed effects, or treatment with lye, smoking or liming.
Engineered timber flooring differs from natural hardwood flooring in its layered construction, which offers increased stability. Its structural integrity allows us to create engineered boards wider than standard solid tongue and groove boards.
