Yes. Engineered timber flooring is very eco-friendly, as it helps reduce waste by using all parts of the tree. Sourced from sustainable European forests, engineered timber flooring is made from many thinner planks of wood, allowing a greater portion of each tree to be utilised. In addition, other flooring materials can be non-recyclable and emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as contributing to landfill. Timber flooring can be refinished, however, for an extended lifespan or repurposed into other wood products.
While solid hardwood is more durable and has been among those products buyers often search for, the more affordable engineered timber flooring and its easier installation have won over many Australian residents. Yes, you can. Our flooring finishes are endlessly unique. Engineered hardwood flooring from Market Timbers is available in different widths, thicknesses, finishes and treatments. Choose from our Danish penetrating oil, WOCA, or a water-based polyurethane and hard wax oil finish. Other options include hand-scraping, heavy-brushed effects, or treatment with lye, smoking or liming.
Engineered timber flooring differs from natural hardwood flooring in its layered construction, which offers increased stability. Its structural integrity allows us to create engineered boards wider than standard solid tongue and groove boards.
