It depends on which flooring best suits your space and budget. It can be hard to distinguish parquet from laminate flooring. Both flooring types look very similar and have their advantages. Laminate floors have a photographic pattern laid on the surface, are ready for installation without sanding and finishing, and are better at withstanding discolouration caused by exposure to the sun. On the other hand, parquetry flooring is made of real wood, is installed without the need for additional sealing, and only has to be re-oiled every year. Unlike laminate flooring, it can be sanded down. Thus it lasts longer than laminate but is more expensive.
Parquetry floors can last from 10 to 15 years and even longer with proper maintenance.
