Three Interesting Applications of Timber Indoors
While we are all accustomed to seeing solid and engineered timbers used as a flooring option, there is a number of other interesting applications of our timber within residential & commcercial projects! The options are only limited by the creativity of the designer or architect, it also helps to have a supplier of premium timber products (like us). With exciting new products such a cork often dominating alot of rennovations, solid timbers can be overlooked and thrown into the basket of ‘the old faithful’ timber. Despite this, we’re still strong believers that this product can be used in creatvie and innovative ways.
This project by Matyas architects ensured the same timber used in the staircase and built in robes flowed into the bedhead, creating seamless continuity in textures and colours as you walk up the stairs and into the bedroom, very clever!
Ron Unger uses wide oak boards to complete the look of this island bench. In a similar fashion to the aforementioned headboard, Unger fosters impressive flow into this kitchen space as the boards climb off the floor and up the bench.
Instead of dropping into the local furniture store, why not create something unique and use premium timbers to create some custom joinery? Studio Gram architects made use of some of our Tasmanian Oak when fitting out an Adelaide restaurant, how cool is that?
So there you have it, a few incredibly interesting and unique applications of our timber, have you got some other creative ways to use out timber? If so, comment below, we’d love to hear your ideas!
